With the link between Plug&Pay and Huddle you can automate the following:
Create users after an order of a product, or form submission.
Assign access levels for relevant linked content.
Remove access levels after a subscription is set to inactive.
If your customer already has a Huddle account, new access levels are automatically assigned to the existing account after an order is placed.
Activating the Huddle plugin
In order to active the Huddle plugin, go to Settings > Plugins:
On the next screen you can click on Link in order to activate the Huddle plugin:
Enter your Huddle domain name
Next, you see a screen where you enter your domain name (URL) of your Huddle. You can find your Huddle's domain name in the address bar when you are in your Huddle environment.
ℹ️ In order to instantly create the link, make sure you are already logged in your Huddle environment in a different browser tab.
After entering your domain name, click on Log in to Huddle, and you will be sent directly to your Huddle environment where you can log in.
After you have logged in, go back to Plug&Pay to complete the link by pressing Connect:
If you see the screen below, you have successfully created the link:
Add rules to the product
Now that the link is set up, you can create connections per product. A connection for a product determines what occurs in Huddle when a customer buys this product.
❗️We create connections at the product level because we determine per product what access level a user should receive in your Huddle environment.
In the settings for your product, you go to Connections and press Add rule to get started.
For a one-time payment, you can select two triggers:
Invoice Created: This is triggered as soon as an invoice is created.
Order Paid: This is triggered as soon as an order is actually paid. This is relevant for one-click upsells and/or other direct debits - these are paid later than the order is created.
For a subscription, you can select three additional triggers:
Subscription Cancelled: This is triggered once a customer cancels their subscription. A cancelled subscription is still active, and only expire sat the next direct debit date.
Subscription Ended: This is triggered once the subscription changes from active to inactive or ended.
Subscription Created: This is triggered once the subscription is set to active.
Under Action select Huddle and choose between Assign an access level, Remove an access level if you are selling a subscription, or Only add Huddle user.
Which option are available depends on your Huddle subscription:
Huddle Premium or -Ultimate: Access to all options
Huddle Lite: Only add Huddle user, because Huddle Lite has no access levels.
The access levels available are the access levels created in your Huddle environment. You can select multiple access levels:
ℹ️ You create access levels in your Huddle environment. No access levels available? Create them first in your Huddle. Read this article for more information.
When you sell a subscription or instalment plan, there is an extra box that can be ticked:
This executes the rule with every direct debit. This can be useful when you work with temporary access levels in Huddle.
After creating the connection, it is added to your overview of connections.
In the example below, the access level test is added as soon as the subscription starts, and is removed once the subscriptions ends:
That is all there is to it! As soon as your customer buys this product, a user with this access level is created in your Huddle environment and your customer will automatically receive a welcome email.
❗️Huddle welcome emails are only set to new Huddle users. If your customers already has a Huddle account, this email is not sent again. No email is sent to inform your customer that a new access level is granted.
You can set this up yourself by means of automated emails. More information on how to send an automated email with ActiveCampaign/Mailblue can be found in this article.
Adding rules to a form
You can also create connections to your Huddle environment via forms. A connection for a form determines what happens when someone fills out the form. This can be useful if you want to grant free access via an opt-in page.
Similarly to a product, go to Connections and press Add rule to get started:
As an Action select Form Submitted and choose to Assign access level or Only add Huddle user.
The access levels available are the access levels created in your Huddle environment. You can select multiple access levels:
After creating the connection, it is added to your overview of connections.
In the example below, the access level test is added as this form is submitted:
💡Select the option Only add Huddle user to give away free access to your Huddle.
That is all there is to it! As soon as your customer fills out a form, a user with this access level is created in your Huddle environment and your customer will automatically receive a welcome email.
